◄Hand Therapy►

The Hand Therapy service offers individualized, full-range rehabilitation of all hand and upper extremity conditions.  Services are provided by Board Certified Hand Therapist, Physical and Occupational therapists who have undergone advanced training.

 

We provide therapy for most upper extremity conditions, including these classic problems:

  • Tendon repairs and tendonitis

  • Crush and fracture injuries

  • Arthritis

  • Ligament injuries and repairs

  • Burns

  • Shoulder and elbow conditions

  • Surgical and post surgical

  • Peripheral nerve injuries and repair

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Dupuytren's contracture (post surgery)

  • Amputations and partial amputations

  • Elbow fractures / epicondylitis

  • Reflex sympathetic dystrophy

  • Lymphedema management

 

We use specific protocols for various diagnoses, individualizing each patient's program as appropriate.  Services include:

  • Customized splint fabrication

  • Strengthening exercises

  • Wound care

  • Biodex work simulator

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADL)

  • Paraffin / Fluidotherapy

  • TENS

  • Range of motion exercises

  • Scar management

  • Pain control

  • Arthritis joint protection instruction

  • Ultrasound / phonophoresis / iontophoresis

  • Biofeedback

  • Edema management
